Immuny
I signed up for a three day startup competition at USC and ended up meeting my cofounders for Immuny, inspired by one of my cofounder's experiences getting diagnosed with alpha-gal syndrome. This syndrome is caused by a tick and causes severe and constantly changing allergies. Allergies affect approximately 10% of the world how there are few biomedical devices to help them. Our idea was to build an app interface as well as a sensor attached to the straw that would tell you if you were exhibiting an allergic reaction. We came 3rd in the competition winning $500. I completed Genesis a startup accelerator at USC and participated in NSF I-corps to conduct over 40 customer interviews. This process taught me a lot about business as well as the importance of the customer in biomedical engineering.
I learned to collaborate with different disciplines, including academic mentors, designers, and USC's entrepreneurial network to scope MVP development and clinical relevance.
